Family Counselling
“I’m okay, but can you fix my kids” – an amusing but familiar counselling request.
Adults and children go through changes and stages of development that can be unsettling and lead to difficult behaviour and misunderstanding. The difficult dynamics can affect the whole family unit. Sometimes this increases around the adjustment to separation and divorce. Often the couple’s own relationship can influence what kind of parenting they provide and how the family functions, and this can hit trouble spots.
Family counselling can be arranged around the different concerns that children and parents have. It can also involve sessions where the counsellor talks and works alone with the child.
