Counselling

Relationships Australia (Victoria) offers counselling for relationships in all their aspects. This may mean thinking about how to nurture and improve an existing relationship, or reflecting on what’s not working well in a relationship. It may mean starting a relationship, or ending one. Or it may mean getting assistance with the process of understanding and integrating your experience, and moving on.

Counselling can also help with understanding family interaction and the tensions and struggles between family members - parents and children, siblings, adult children and their parents - all with their different needs and positions.

Counsellors facilitate discussion and provide support to work on the most important matters, identified by the client. Sessions can focus on communication and complicated experiences, and lead to insights and decisions. They can also focus on very specific issues and problems, including sexual concerns.

Counselling sessions are totally confidential. Our counsellors do not make judgments about who is right or wrong. They don’t tell clients what to do or what decisions to make, but rather guide them through a discussion of their feelings, experiences and their options.
